Winchester Veneers & Lumineers

A beautiful smile is not always the marvelous work of Mother Nature. You might be shocked to know that most celebrities popping up on your computer or tv screen owe their pearl white and straight teeth to nothing more than veneers or Lumineers. Both carry many advantages with them - the procedure itself is minimally invasive, bringing excellent results in a relatively short time, and these contribute to a significant improvement in  not only appearance but, above all, in the well-being of patients.

If you are uncomfortable with your smile due to stains, minor chips, misshapen teeth, gaps, or other cosmetic issues, veneers or Lumineers from Dr. Guldalian at Nova Dental of Winchester can enhance your smile. In just a few appointments, Dr. Guldalian can use veneers and Lumineers to completely cover imperfections in your smile and restore tooth shape, color, and spacing.

What Are Veneers?

Veneers are very small, wafer-thin dental prosthetics designed to fit over your existing teeth and replace the front chewing surfaces. By doing so, veneers can cover up almost any cosmetic flaw and ensure that you have a bright, white, and beautiful smile.

The presence of veneers on your teeth is virtually invisible. They are made to mask any aesthetic defects and improve the appearance of your teeth. It is a minimally invasive form of treatment on the border of three areas of dentistry - prosthetics, orthodontics, and cosmetic dentistry. The procedure can be performed on one single tooth or the whole group of teeth. After the completion of the treatment, you can enjoy a beautiful and healthy smile.

When to Consider Veneers or Lumineers?

With the help of veneers or lumineers, we can quickly and effectively get rid of any aesthetic defects of your teeth, including changing their color, shape, length, or width. That is why patients who want to enhance the appearance of their smile decide on the treatment. The indications for the procedure include:
- Discoloration, stains, uneven tooth color
- Numerous and visible tooth fillings
- Tooth shape correction - elongation, shortening, widening, or narrowing of the tooth crown, such as in the case of worn teeth,
- Partial tooth reconstruction, such as restoration of traumatic fractures as an alternative to the composite filling.
- Correction of the tooth surface
- Tooth position correction - changing the position of the tooth in the arch when dealing with minimal malocclusions, improvement of small deviations and rotation - it should be remembered that it will not replace orthodontic treatment.
- elimination of diastema (gaps between teeth) as an alternative to orthodontic treatment.

What to Expect

The Veneer Placement Process

The veneers’ placement process typically takes just two appointments. During your first appointment, your teeth will be cleaned and numbed. Then a very thin layer of enamel will be removed from any teeth that will be receiving veneers. This enamel is removed to ensure that your veneers will fit seamlessly and look natural.

Next, impressions and images of your teeth will be taken. Dr. Guldalian will collaborate with a third-party dental lab and use this information to create a set of custom veneers that will look and feel just like natural teeth. This usually takes 2-3 weeks. In order to cover up the preparatory procedures, you will be sent home with a set of temporary veneers in the meantime.

Once your veneers have arrived at Nova Dental of Winchester, Dr. Guldalian will check them for perfect fit and make sure they are absolutely an impeccable work of art. Then, the veneers will be permanently attached to your teeth using special dental cement. You’ll leave our office with a beautifully rejuvenated and dazzling smile!

The Difference Between Veneers & Lumineers

Lumineers are a particular type of porcelain veneers. Unlike traditional veneers, Lumineers are extremely thin, often about the thickness of a contact lens. This means that Lumineers can be placed on your teeth without requiring the removal of any enamel during the preparation process, making it even less invasive. Lumineers are ideal for patients who require fewer changes in their teeth than what standard veneers offer. They allow a more conservative treatment in preserving tooth structure without the need to perform any enamel removal to achieve an enhanced smile or improved shape of the teeth.
